Stir-fried beef strips in @yakinsedap.my marmite sauce.
Received a free gift set containing a bottle of marmite sauce and a bottle of dipping sauce from @yakinsedap.my about 2 month ago and decided to do some experiment today. By the way, I had never used marmite sauce in my cooking before and I had no idea how marmite tastes.
The result however was a total success, I was very satisfied, they were easy to prepare yet very tasty! I’m gonna get more of this sauce from Eco Shop soon! If anyone is interested to get one, it costs just RM2.10 a bottle.
Ingredients A:
350g beef strips – tenderloin steak
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp cornstarch
Ingredients B:
1/4 cup cooking oil
1 onion – wedged
3 garlics – minced
1 inch ginger – sliced
1 tbsp black peppercorn – ground
1/2 cup @yakinsedap.my marmite sauce
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
1 tbsp salty soy sauce
Spring onion – chopped
Mix cleaned beef strips with marinade ingredients except cornstarch and marinate for 1-2 hours.
When ready to cook, heat cooking oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Coat the marinated beef with cornstarch and stir through.
Add the beef into the pan and flash fry the beef for 1-2 minutes until the outside if each beef strips caramelized. Remove the beef and set aside in a bowl.
Add some more oil if needed and saute onion, ginger, garlics and bird eye chillies until onion is translucent and garlic is brown. Add in the vegetables (pepper, long beans and broccoli florets).
Pour in marmite sauce, sweet soy sauce, salty soy sauce, ground black peppercorn and water and quickly toss in the cooked beef. Stir through to combine and let the sauce simmer for 1 minute.
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped spring onion when serving.
